On the bank of the Prinsengracht you can find one of the other old protestant churches of Amsterdam. Westerkerk is a 1 minute walk from the Anne Frank House.
The Westerkerk was designed by Hendrick de Keyser, who also designed the Zuiderkerk, and was built in 1620. It is designed in Renaissance style and has the form of a patriarchal cross. If you would like to see inside the church online click here.
The spire which is named the Westertoren is the highest church tower in Amsterdam. The tower rises 279 feet above the ground and is topped with a crown making it a beautiful church to visit.
